Cleaning & Home

Unless you're cleaning your oven or scrubbing the bathroom tiles, everyday cleaning need not require heavy-duty, chemical-based formulas to keep your home clean, fresh and germ free. A simple spray made from water, a little bi-carb or castile soap and some essential oils is all the cleaning power you need to keep on top of everyday grease and grime, and to naturally disinfect your home.

Even heavy duty cleaning, can be achieved using simple, natural ingredients such as bi-carb and vinegar, and can be just as effective as commercial cleaning products, minus all the toxins.

Simple ingredients that have been used for generations such as good old fashioned bi-carb, vinegar and lemon achieve excellent results and won't irritate the skin or adversely affect your health.

Essential oils are an effective way to clean and freshen your home and smell incredible, much nicer than artificially fragranced, commercial cleaning products. Add a few drops along with a squirt of castile soap to a bucket of warm water to wash your floors, to remove grease and grime from walls or to clean the bathroom.  Or make your own washing powder using coconut soap, washing soda and bi-carb and a few drops of your favourite essential oils for perfectly clean, freshly-scented linen.

white cleaning vinegar

Used for generations for a variety of cleaning purposes, cleaning-grade white spirit vinegar is effective in eliminating germs and bacteria from your home due to its natural acidity.

This multi-purpose, natural cleaner can be used to clean surfaces, including stainless steel, timber, tiles, laminate etc. as well as for cleaning windows, as a floor cleaner, a rinse aid in your dishwasher, as a fruit and veggie wash, the list goes on.

When combined with bi-carb it makes an effective oven cleaner, or any task that requires more heavy duty cleaning power. Vinegar can be used as a gentle stain remover and a little mixed into your laundry load can help brighten your whites.

Vinegar helps reduce mould and mildew in damp areas such as the bathroom or wherever there's condensation. It also cleans mineral deposits in your coffee pot, on your shower head or taps etc.

washing soda

Washing soda, also known as sodium carbonate, is an effective natural cleaner and water softener. An essential ingredient in homemade washing powder, washing soda is a chemical compound derived from carbonic acid, a chemical that produces a wide range of salts collectively known as carbonates.

This naturally-derived ingredient is highly alkaline. With a PH of 11, it makes an effective degreaser and stain remover. It softens hard water and helps lift stains from fabrics.

Washing soda is safe to use and doesn't omit any toxic fumes, although it's highly caustic and should be handled with gloves to avoid skin irritation.

Ideal to have on hand, washing soda can be used for a variety of purposes that extend far beyond washing powder. Make a cleaning solution of 1/4 cup of washing soda to 1.5 litres of water and use to clean mould, mineral deposits and soap scum from your shower curtain. Clean soap scum in the shower or bath. Clean and remove odours from your rubbish bin. As an oven cleaner or sprinkle a little in your toilet bowl to clean and freshen your toilet. And so much more!

bicarb soda

Long used for baking, cleaning and a whole range of other purposes, no home is complete without this miracle ingredient. Highly alkaline, non-toxic and eco-friendly, bi-carb soda, also known as baking soda or sodium bicarbonate, is incredibly effective in a variety of cleaning and household purposes.

Our bi-carb soda is certified organic by the ACO (Australian Certified Organic) and contains no fillers, colours, fragrances or additives of any kinds. Unlike many commercial brands of sodium bicarbonate, ours is not manufactured and does not undergo any chemical processing. It is simply mined from naturally occurring sodium bicarbonate.

Dating back to ancient Egypt, bi-carb soda has been used in food preparation and cleaning applications since it became commercially available in the mid 19th century and has become a staple item in most households.

Bi-carb soda can be used to clean just about anything you can think of and helps eliminate odours. Use to clean any stubborn food bits on pots and pans, mix with vinegar and/or other ingredients to make an effective oven cleaner, combine with lemon juice and clean stainless steel surfaces to reveal their shine, make up a surface spray with water and lemon juice or vinegar and clean counter tops, the fridge, rubbish bins, carpet stains etc. Or de-clog a drain with a sprinkle of bi-carb or freshen smelly shoes, clean your silver jewellery, or even whiten your teeth. The question is what can't bi-carb do?

castille soap

Made from organic and biodegradable ingredients, castile soap is safe for the environment and won't pollute our waterways. Used wherever you require detergent such as dish soap, laundry detergent, homemade all-purpose cleaner, as a makeup brush cleaner, floor wash, or even as a fruit and veggie wash, castile soap's multi-tasking capabilities make it an ideal product to keep in the bathroom or laundry cupboard.

Castile soap doesn't stop at the laundry. Its gentle, organic formula contains no animal fats or synthetic ingredients, making castile soap suitable as a mild cleanser for babies. Use on its own as a shampoo, body wash, hand soap, face cleanser, bubble bath etc. or combine with other ingredients to make all kinds of effective skincare formulations.

coconut soap

Made from three simple ingredients, coconut oil, sourced from organic and sustainable coconuts, lye and water, this soap is incredibly gentle on the skin and dissolves so easily even in warm water, making it a great choice as a laundry soap.

Containing no fragrances, fillers, enzymes, phosphates, acids or sodium lauryl, coconut soap is non-irritating and non-allergenic making it ideal for sensitive skin.

Use in place of ordinary soap and dissolve in warm water for all kinds of personal and home cleaning applications. Mixed with bi-carb soda, washing soda, and some essential oils, it makes an effective, non-toxic washing powder that leaves your clothes thoroughly clean and smelling fresh.
